Registration is Open for the 2026 Housing Forum: Keep Rockland Home
The Office of Community Development is pleased to announce that registration is open for the 2026 Housing Forum. The forum will take place on April 24th, 2026 from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm and will be held at 35 Firemens Memorial Drive, Pomona, NY 10970. This years event features a keynote presentation by Nora Madonick, CEO of Arch Street Communications, and exciting panels such as:
- Innovative Solutions for Creating Affordable Homes for People with Developmental Disabilities
- Lead Hazard Remediation and the NYS Rental Registry
- Comprehensive Plan Update
- Advancing Fair Housing: State and Local Insights (1.5 CLE Credits)
- Lessons Learned: A Retrospective on the Maple Commons Project, a public private partnership
- Ask Me Anything - A Pro Housing Communities Panel with NYS Homes and Community Renewal, Empire State Development, Supervisor Specht and Mayor Kohut

The Office of Community Development serves the people of Rockland County by administering federal grants to provide affordable housing and improve the quality of life to low and moderate-income residents in Rockland in an ethical, courteous, timely and cost-effective manner.
Grants, Programs & Services
Community Development Block Grants
The CDBG program works to supports community development activities to build stronger and more resilient communities. Activities may address needs such as infrastructure, economic development projects, public facilities installation, community centers, housing rehabilitation, public services, clearance/acquisition, microenterprise assistance, code enforcement, homeowner assistance, etc.
Home Investment Partnership Program
A Federal grant program designed to help jurisdictions expand the supply of decent and affordable rental and ownership housing for low and very low income persons.
Emergency Solutions Grant
The purpose of the ESG program is to assist individuals and families quickly regain stability in permanent housing after experiencing a housing crisis or homelessness.
RESTORE
The Residential Emergency Services to Offer (Home) Repairs to the Elderly (RESTORE) Program provides senior citizen homeowners age sixty and over with the cost of addressing emergencies and code violations that pose a threat to their health and safety, or affect the livability of their home.
A grant program utilizing both state and federal money to remediate lead hazards in residential properties throughout Rockland County.
